What you will learn:
The video shows how I painted the otter from start to finish. Learning points are:
- Using Masking Fluid for whiskers – recommend Masquepen as it has a very fine applicator
- Wetting parts of the paper for light (eyes and body)
- Painting dark to light (the nose)
- Detail – Lines and V’s (fur)
- Effect – Splash for movement
Palette
Please don’t worry if you don’t have all these colours. I would definitely recommend having an experiment with the paints you already have in your palete but, if you’d like to treat yourself to some pigments, the four Daniel Smith ones are new to my paint box!
